Michael Flux, Senior Vice President & Portfolio Manager
Mike joined CC&L Private Capital in 2003 (15 years) and has worked in the investment management industry since 1998 (almost 20 years). His prior work experience includes Mackenzie Financial Corporation, CIBC Securities Inc. and Procter & Gamble Inc. He understands the importance to clients of tailored solutions that meet their unique situations. Mike’s knowledge spans a wide range of assets classes, from traditional to alternative, including real estate, infrastructure, private loans, private equity and hedge strategies.
Mike provides a confident approach to guiding his clients towards achieving their long-term financial goals. He adheres to the key principles of listening and responding, placing the utmost importance on understanding each of his client’s unique goals and objectives, ensuring flexibility to changing market conditions and personal circumstances. Mike is dedicated to developing strong working relationships and providing the highest level of personalized service.
Mike is also very active in charitable pursuits. He sits on the Board and Finance Committee of the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation and has been involved with St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation for over twelve years, where he is currently an active contributor on the President’s Council. Mike will be Co-Chair for the 2nd Annual St. Michael’s Foundation Urban Affair Gala, and he has recently been appointed to the SickKids Professional Advisors Council as a founding member. Mike is also an active member on the Major Giving Cabinet for the United Way Toronto & York Region.
Along with his family, Mike has established and funded The Flux Foundation (Donor-Advised Fund) with the goal of driving positive change and social impact in our shared community. The Flux Foundation focuses on funding charitable organizations in health care, poverty alleviation, education and sport. They also provided key funding to build and establish The McElwain Educational Institute in Sri Lanka in support of the 2004 tsunami relief efforts and furthering education in the area.
Mike earned his Bachelor of Commerce Honors from Queen’s University (1995), MBA from Edinburgh Business School (2008), and has achieved the CFA, CFP and CIM designations.
