Time flies when you are having fun!

Two years ago today I began a new adventure, when I took on the role of Executive Director at York Angel Investors (YAI), and what an exciting journey it has been.

Working with YAI on the management side, and not just the angel side, has been educational. Thanks so much to the many kind people who have mentored me, and continue to help me learn and grow. I sincerely appreciate your support. Along with insightful angels, I am also lucky to be a part of a very giving and generous ecosystem, with great community partners who love to collaborate. Thank you.

One of the aspects of this role that I have enjoyed immensely is making new connections, in the York Angel family and external to it, among the angelsphere. I have made many dear friends, and for that I feel very lucky.

The past two years have been a coming of age for York Angels, which was originally formed in 2008. The group has grown in size and activity, and I’d like to thank all of our dedicated angels and my talented colleagues for their hard work and dedication. Without your contribution of time, ideas and capital, YAI would not be where we are now.

And where are we? Well, we are a fantastic, fun group that has accomplished a lot in the past 24 months.

We have:

  • Added 33 dynamic new members
  • Completed 32 deals, with 5 more in Due Diligence
  • Invested $7.92 MIL into innovative companies.

A strong two years, and we are poised for more years of growth, investment and comradery.

Hold on tight!

Thanks for letting me reflect,
